Laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure with multiple stages. The actual laser hair removal treatment is done in small pulses. You may experience small stinging sensations depending on the sensitivity of the area you’re receiving the treatment. The length of the procedure depends on many factors such as the size of location as well as the thickness and amount of hair. Your provider will observe your skin for a few minutes afterwards to make sure there are no bad reactions. You will then be given ice packs and usually some kind of anti-inflammatory lotion or cold water compress to soothe discomfort. To prepare for laser hair removal avoid plucking and waxing. Laser hair removal targets the roots of the hair, and removing them may result in an ineffective procedure. You should also avoid sun exposure for the same amount of time. It may lessen the effect of laser hair removal and possibly cause complications afterwards. Laser hair removal treatment is done again in 4-6 weeks and repeated until the hair stops growing.  Blistering, skin discoloration and permanent scarring is uncommon.
